We departed the Chalice Well garden and Little St Michael's house, then made our way to Wales.
of course Arthur is important to the tale of Avalon |
the many fire places were all non-functional and still the charm of the 16th Century remains |
the Lion's Head well |
we collected a last bit to drink on the way |
final view of the busy garden where a May pole was still standing now quiet in the morning sun |
the drapers had a shop that faced one of the few open spaces where parking for the Little St.Michael's house was Mary found some very nice footwear |
unsurprisingly there were no firefighters to be found at the local station, as I am sure mid-week daytime is not a practice time |
then came a stop at Tintern Abbey |
I grabbed many photos as the abbey ruins had the sort of presentation I have seen my sons attempt in their WH 40K games |
the walls and ruined buildings give an otherworldly appearance |
loads of photos were taken to capture many of the details of this fascinating place
only a sample of them are shared here
the abbey has undergone many changes since the 19th Century |
after a luncheon we headed out again, still in Wales - to seek out another magical spot (or two)
