Arrived & ... it's complicated

Hello dear readers, I have arrived at our new home, the renovations continue, more slowly now that the boxes and furniture have arrived and now I have to shuffle things to get to my workspace for cutting tile.

view from our back deck on the morning after a snow storm
power was out most of that day

Add to that a snowstorm (early) and the power being KO'd for many days (not continuously - just over many hours over many days), along with the renovations not being 'simple' due to earlier works needing to be corrected (the other person putting in strange setups for water and power).

At least I have a dog to walk and some great views.

You're at the good end of moving house. Moving out is hellish. That's the worst part. Moving in is fun. That's the best part. The Gods in their wisdom and mercy have chosen to make the moving out go before the moving in.

Best wishes in your new home.

Certainly looks a beautiful view, but power outages don’t sound fun.

With you there on the move out being tough Piccolo, in this case we had only 12 days to get renovations and painting done, I did not have enough time on the days here to do the tile and plumbing for two bathrooms and a kitchen, so we have 2 (half) bathrooms, at least there are two functioning toilets.

The move out was really the simplest part since we had 4 months to prepare. A garage on the property to stage many boxes and item on, and only a 1 hour drive time from one home to the other, so during the renovation days, some items were brought out and left behind while the renovations went on (and on and on - most of the painting is now done, the main bathroom will be fully ready by next week and the 2nd one by a day or two later (as will the finalize on the kitchen).

My main headaches have been getting work space back available to cut tiles and mix mortar and grout (without making a mess of the whole house). So that has made things go slower than anticipated - along with the multiple power outages.

Fingers crossed that this now smooths out and my time can focus in on finishing and getting caulking of everything done in a few days.
