I daresay Zeus and Hera are the White King and Queen, and I seem to recognise Athene as a bishop, but I'm curious as to the others. I thibnk I would have made Hermes something fast moving - a bishop, as I see you have rocks as rooks (nice idea, but a little bit puzzling).
But who are the Black guys? Other Greeks (I see that at least one White pawn is a Spartan)? Maybe Trojans? There's a thought, although it might not be so easy to to find enough gods (Poseidon, Aphrodite, Ares ... who else?) on the Trojan side.
Or Titans perhaps?
Some fascinating ideas there, and it's a fine looking set.
Thank you for the comment Archduke Piccolo!
I have updated the posting to give the details.
As Hermes was (among other things) a psychopomp, I reckon he could have found a spot in the Black army OK...
