 More highlighting and some 'touch ups' in progress.

Stark heroes in a better picture
some metallic parts to go yet

Likewise the Lannister heroes have metallic
parts to finish

the masses had some more highlighting done

along with belts and touch-ups on the parts done so far

even though they have the same pose and same
general paint scheme, each mini is different in some
way from the others

Metallic finalize now and then get everything sealed in a clear matte coat.  Then the flocking.

Still looking good for done before the 29th of October

 Now the highlights are really coming out.

every unit got some 'little bit'  done on them

mostly it was oranges & boots for the Starks
(though the green dress got done for Cat, but the photo was blurry)

all of the reds are now fully developed

undercoats for the bright bronzes and golds
are done and ready to take metallic

the two forces are really shaping up now

 

most of the cloth highlights are now done and some more focus work done on the heroes

The mountain only needs some bronze parts
other Lannisters have last highlights and metallic to go

Lannister bronze and gold highlights to be put on

the dire wolf will have more focus time
the two Stark women will have further time on them as well

bronze and gold parts on all the shields and armor highlights to go

the leather parts and some of hair and beards get their layers done in the finishing stages

busy day ... only the yellow got attention time

 

we have a new home being organized now and this commission was targeted as a last one done in the current setup ... gonna be a while before I can safely say that I have time to accept new work like this

red mid-range goes on

red is such a finicky color

some light tans were updated

getting ready for the light blue and grey highlighting

the two forces really stand apart to the eye quickly now

bases get metallic upgrade

now the bases will get some more paint on the sides before top coat and flocking, glad I got them base coated and have been picking away at parts when time is available

 Metal parts have begun

the Stark wolf shields will feature some
metal wolves, others with painted wood look

again the two forces are distinct in presentation

only the swords were fully done in this stage

there was time to do the 'dusty' metal parts
that the Lannisters have much of

there are plans for brass and gold parts to be
done - especially on Jamie Lannister

Now house details take over for a couple of days - there may be time for the chainmail to be done before the weekend.

Then comes final leather and highlights ... along with detail 'repairs'.

 The first stage of highlights has begun, though much of my time is also being diverted to packing up house.

the lighter blue and greys have been done today

detail work always takes the longer time

the oranges and yellows are yet to come

the final stages of the 'heroes' will also take up time

Though I got less done today than I hoped, and with thanksgiving meal and visits expected tomorrow, I'll not be getting back to the brushes in earnest until the 12th.

Having said that - I still foresee a completion on or about the 21st.

the force composition and colors stand out now

only some highlights and metallic are needed for
most of the foot troops

the Kligane (yellow) forces have more yet

while the 'heroes' of both sides still have a few more details
to come

the bulk of the forces just have some more
highlights ... then touch up begins

the bases are also being worked on so that
everything can be flocked at the same time
if possible

The target date of October 21 for completion continues to be possible - just need to keep at the work.

Here they are just now base-coated due to a break in the weather so I could do the base coating.

The paint was still wet in the photos.

 The mid-tones are going on now.

much of the red colors are still to be brought up

a variation in the reds will be happening with the
final layers

the blues work out differently

starting to look like there will be a wash
used on them to give them a bit of a weathering look
