ECW first units complete

The first four units of a Parliament Army , of a planned ten.
I now have four fine units of Pike & Shotte.

Blew Pike & Shotte II (note the pikes)

The colours that I have choosen ayre set from the Parlyment Army of the Earyle of Essexx who participated in the Campaign of Edgehill in 1642.

Some brightly coloured units this time (a departure from my usual 'campaign look')

So there ayr to bee many in Blew.

A very good start, sir. But I also urge you to remember that Essex's colour was a sort of orange . . . so you do probably want to have at least one of those too.

Bluebear Jeff is correct. Essex should have a tawny orsnge contingent. Your basing is similar to my own. For what rules are they based?

Nice ECW units.

Well to be specific, this force of four forms Sir John Meldrum's Brigade.

Lord Saye and Sele's Regiment - Blue
Lord Robartes' Regiment - Red Lined Yellow (cannot do the 'lining' so easily hence the Red & Yellow)
Sir William Constable's Regiment - Blue (the second one so the two white flashes on the pikes and some non blue uniform parts)
Sir William Fairfax's Regiment - Gray

The Lord General's Regiment is part of Thomoas Ballard's Brigade and is dressed in Orange.

I will not likely be getting to it for a few months. As I have a commission work to do now and plan to do some officers, cavalry and other foot before moving to Ballard's Brigade.

The rules plan is something designed by Jeff, still in production, though I may also use these lads for Victory Without Quarter and likely have a go at the Canadian Wargames Group rules for ECW, Jeff is reading those rules now.
