the article I noted that Geddes is described as being more pacifistic in outlook and thought that by playing at war a real war would appear less appealing...

Quite a few wargamers tend to be pacificistic (not to say pacific) in outlook. H.G. Wells seems to have been one such.
ReplyDeleteMyself, although not precisely a conscientious objector - I can see reasons why one might pick up a gun - tend strongly towards the peaceable and of the spectrum...
